Family owned and run for almost 50 years, the Belize River Lodge is among the best known fishing destinations in the entire Caribbean. It was the first Hotel in Belize established strictly for tourists and the 1st to specialize in Sport Fishing. This historic landmark was a pioneer in this highly specialized area of tourism for which Belize is now world famous. While other fishing lodges have diversified and become more focused on scuba diving, water and beach sports, the Belize River Lodge has remained true to its name and is today the only fishing lodge in Central Belize! Property is located 3.5 miles from the mouth of the Belize River on 47 lush Acres with 1,800 feet along the eastern bank of the beautiful Belize River.

Both the International Airport and Belize City are less than 10 minutes away. More importantly, some of Belize’s best fishing grounds are less than 15 minutes away by boat from the Lodge. This is indeed Belize’s ultimate saltwater safari. The Belize River Lodge pioneered the live-aboard or mother-ship system of fishing using a larger boat as a mobile lodge to access more remote areas of Belize’s waterways. The lodge employs 7 to 8 of the finest fishing guides in the country and uses a high-attention ratio of 4 guides to every 8 guests. This is one of the reasons why the lodge sees repeat guests year after year. Some have been returning since the eighties.

Currently 6 main structures exist on the property: Main Lodge (common areas including Restaurant & Lounge) Guest House (2 Floors with 4 individual Rooms) Cottage (2 Double Rooms) Bungalow (2 Floors with 2 Double Rooms on Top Floor & Private 3 Bedroom Apartment on the Ground Floor – possible manager’s quarters) Bunk House (Male Staff Quarters, workshop, store room and laundry) Boat House.
